José Tello
Principal
Jose Tello is a Principal and founder Bayshore Investment Partners (BIP) with over twelve years of experience focused primarily on multifamily and industrial real estate investments. He has overseen the equity structuring, financing, closing, and operations of 18 multifamily and one industrial flex assets with over 2,500 units and 60,000 SF of industrial flex assets across the Southeast United States (totaling +$400M in acquisitions and +$550M in transactions). Additionally, Jose leads asset management, acquisitions, and investor relations at BIP. Previously, he worked as a Senior Associate for a Single-Family Investment Fund based in Miami.
In 2022, Jose co-founded and is the Managing Partner at Martell Capital Partners (“MCP”), a private equity fund dedicated to investing in small and medium-sized businesses. Under Mr. Tello’s leadership, MCP has partnered and invested in 18 operating companies across diverse industries including business services, healthcare, software and light manufacturing in the United States, Canada, Europe and Mexico. Jose also serves on the board on 4 of these operating companies. Furthermore, under Mr. Tello’s tenure, MCP has partnered with +20 top-tier search funds that are actively looking to acquire operating companies across diverse industries.
Since 2016, Jose is also a partner at ReadySpaces, an innovative co-working industrial platform that currently operates 36 warehouses in major markets across the United States and Canada. Through the partnership Mr. Tello assisted to structure, the company opened 11 locations in primary markets across the United States including: Los Angeles (2), Seattle, Washington D.C., San Jose, Denver, New York City, New Jersey and Tampa.
Additionally, since 2021 Mr. Tello is part of the board of directors of Metrofraternidad Foundation, which is the main shareholder of the largest private medical system in Ecuador (including Hospital Metropolitano, Humana Insurance, and Metrored). The network counts with over 200,000 affiliates. Furthermore, the foundation has treated over 140,000 patients in the last 30 years that come from impoverished backgrounds and has donated over 8,700 high and medium complexity surgeries to lower-income individuals. Mr. Tello is currently the youngest member to form part of the board of directors of Metrofraternidad.
More recently, Mr. Tello has participated as a regular guest speaker at IMN’s Annual Southeast Middle Market Multifamily Conferences). He also forms part of the YNG YPO (Young Presidents Organization) Ecuador chapter and is the Co-Founder of the Bentley Alumni YNG YPO group.
Jose holds a bachelor’s degree in Managerial Economics and Entrepreneurship from Bentley University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
